Available on Netflix, Kelly Duane's film "Monumental: David Brower's Fight for Wild America," is a fantastic portrayal of one of America's most prominent environmental conservationists. Know for his work as the Executive Director of the Sierra Club during the 50's and 60's; Brower's dedication, vision, and boldness saved many priceless wild and natural landscapes from human development. Brower's conviction and drive is very motivational and his effect on environmental history has been profound to say the least. The film is loaded with beautiful landscape videos taken by Brower during his years working for the Sierra Club, giving the film an authentic feeling of how life was back when many of the battles over environmental conservation were being fought. This film is a must see for anyone interested in the Sierra Nevada, environmental conservation, National Parks, wilderness areas, or the many beautiful natural landscapes found across the US.
